the Name of a Letter with its Sound (अक्षरे व ध्वनी यांची सांगड)
(1) Capital letters :
ABCDE FGHIJ KLMNO PQRST UVWXYZ
(2) Small letters :
abcde fghij klmno pqrst uvwxyz
या प्रकारच्या स्वाध्यायांत विद्यार्थ्यांना पुढील स्वरूपाचे प्रश्न सोडवायचे असतात :
(1) इंग्रजी वर्णमालेतील / मूळाक्षरांतील अक्षरे व ध्वनी यांची सांगड घालणे. (अक्षरांचे योग्य उच्चार ओळख)
(2) इंग्रजीतील मोठ्या (capital) व लहान (small) लिपीतील वर्णाक्षरांचे परस्परसंबंध जोडणे दोन लिपीतील अक्षरांमधील फरक ओळखणे.
(3) वर्णाक्षरे वर्णानुक्रमे (योग्य क्रमाने) लिहिणे /मांडणे, त्यांचे क्रम ओळखणे.
(4) इंग्रजी शब्द alphabetical order मध्ये लिहिणे,

e : ए - उदा., bed, egg, ten, pen

आइ - उदा., ice, fine kite kind, fire, wire hire, tire, iron
अs - उदा., girl bird chirp. sir
o : ओ - उदा., cold no. go. hole
आउ - उदा., owl. cow, tower now
आँ - उदा., ox. dog. cock. box .
अ - उदा., onion, monkey
u : अ - उदा., bus, but fun. duck
उ - उदा., put bull, push pull
यु- उदा., uniform unit, plural, cure
(4) इंग्रजी वर्णमालेतील व्यंजनांचे (consonants) उच्चार पुढीलप्रमाणे होतात.

स् - उदा - cycle, cell, city, rice
d - ड् - उदा - duck, doll, date, redi
f - फ् - उदा - fish, fan, friend, left
g - ग् - उदा.- goat, get, gun, bag
ज् - giraffe, gem, gentle
h - ह् - hat, hen, horse, behind.
J - ज् - Jug, jar, joke, major
K - क् - kite, key, king, take
l - ल् - leg, last, large, call
m - म् - man, make, market,
n - न्- net, not, name, can
p - प् - pen, pant, pond, cap.
q - क् - conquer, racquet ,queen, quite, question
r - र् - road, ran, word, car
S - स् - see, say, sun, bus.

व् - window, wise, want, power
X - व्क्स box, x-ray, exercise, excite
ग्झ - examination, example
झ् - xerox, xylophone

जोडाक्षरांनी सुरुवात होणारे काही शब्द चांगले लक्षात ठेवा :
th (1) थ् - think, (थिंक्), third (थई), thigh (थाइ), thorn (थॉर्न्)
(2) द् उदा., उदा., the. (द, दी), there (देअर), they (देइ), them (देम्)
Wh - व् , where (वेअर्), what (वॉट्), when (वेन्), where (वेअर)
